Psychotherapy and Coaching for Parents who want to live a connected, empowered life.

Therapy

Individual and Couples Therapy to support resolution of problematic beliefs, behaviors, relationship issues, and feelings in all stages of parenthood

Available to NY, NJ and CT residents

You set out on this journey because you were ready to pour your heart and soul into creating a family life full of love, memories, strong bonds and joy.

You’ve put so much time and energy into making sure you are showing up in all the ways and being successful in all of your roles, while trying to hold onto your own wellbeing.

But at some point along the way, you’ve lost your ability to feel good as you move through parenthood.

From anxiety and worry to sadness and depression, anger, irritability, burn-out, loneliness, poor self-esteem and disconnect and conflict in relationships, the side effects of parenthood are not for the faint of heart.

For many new and seasoned parents, the rapid changes and demands of this life stage exacerbate or trigger thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are difficult to manage.

It’s easy to lose sight of who you are, become a stranger in your romantic relationship, and feel the rawness of childhood wounds and extended family dynamics.

And even to question whether you are capable of having the family and relationships you’ve always dreamed of.

All of these things are real.

And they are an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to realign your life to who you are now and who you hope to become.

There is a way to make the hard things feel a little bit easier, to feel more engaged in your relationships and goals, and to take back the reins and stay in the driver’s seat through all of the ups and downs that come with life and parenthood.

There is a way to a happier, healthier you.

A happier, healthier marriage.

And a happier, healthier family.

You already have what it takes.  With some guidance and support, we’ll bring it to the surface so you can move through parenthood feeling confident, present and empowered to create the life you want- from the inside out.

About SPACE

“Allison was immensely helpful as we considered how best to support our young one who has dealt with emotional struggles. We always felt that Allison’s input was informed both by her training and her keen attention to our conversations about our child, emphasizing particularity over a one-size-fits-all approach. Through working with her, we developed not only tools to help our kid flourish but also the resilience of knowing that when challenges arise, as they inevitably do for all parents, we have the ability to approach them in a proactive and deliberate way.”

M.L., Dad of 2, New York

“If you ever find yourself wondering why your child is acting a certain way, why you are reacting the way you do, or whether you actually just yelled about socks, Allison is the person to call. Her coaching gave us clarity, confidence, and that grace we were so in need of. I cannot recommend her enough."

Kelly, mom of 4, New York

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The main difference is that coaching services DO NOT assess, diagnose or treat underlying mental health conditions.

Therapy is designed to focus on the individual parent or the parent relationship and to analyze underlying patterns of thinking, feeling and behavior that are causing significant distress or impairment.

While Parent Coaching does gently reflect on how internalized patterns shape your parenting experience, it is more focused on what is happening now and on your experience with your child and leveling up your parenting experience to be more aligned with your ideal family vision.  Parent Coaching is goal-specific and time-limited.

  • I have many patients I see for therapy who also work with a Parent Coach, and many coaching clients who have a therapist.  The 2 services can be a great compliment to one another, and we will work together to ensure that’s the case.
